Horse-drawn Sleigh, Carriage & Wagon Rides in Angel Fire, NM

There is nothing more enchanting in Northern New Mexico than a horsedrawn carriage or sleighride along scenic mountain trails, amongst Aspen and Ponderosa pine trees, with vistas of snowcapped Wheeler Peak and the quiet Village of Angel Fire along the foothills of the Carson National Forest. Roadrunner Tours has been hosting families and groups for over thirty years. Our memorable yearround tours bring visitors back to Angel Fire again and again. 

Winter Sleigh Ride Tours

As long as there is ample snowfall along trails, our winter sleigh rides begin at the Elkhorn Lodge and travel along the foothills of the forest and throughout the Angel Fire Resort area. We stop for photo-ops and snow play. Our guests frequenty see deer, elk, bunny rabbits, and other wildlife, and it's not uncommon to see hawks or a Golden or Bald Eagle. We invite our guests to enjoy hot chocolate, beverages and cookies with us at the Camp Fire Cafe before and after our excursions. Breakfast, lunch or dinners can be arranged for your group by request. Private tours can also be arranged. Tours typically last just under an hour.

Please park in the Visitor Center parking lot, and meet your guide across the park at the Deer Run Trailhead.

Seasonal Carriage Rides

Old-fashioned carriage rides are offered during Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. This is a popular activity for couples and families. The experience includes full emersion in Angel Fire's natural surroundings with wildlife viewing. We have many different tours and trails that we will customize for you during your reservation. We encourage guests to silence their cell phones and break out their binoculars and cameras. Our friendly tour guides and wranglers are happy to share information about the area and points-of-interest, and will stop frequently for photo-ops. Meals can be arranged at your request. Private tours can also be arranged. Rides typically last under an hour.

Wagon Tours

Wagon tours are a great year-round activity for family reunions and large groups. Horsedrawn wagon rides are given along country and backroads throughout the Village of Angel Fire and the Country Club area. Guides will highlight points-of-interst, plant and wildlife, and history. Picnic lunches or dinners can be arranged at your request. Tours typically last just under an hour.

 

A wagon ride for your child's birthday party would be an activity that they'd never forget. Celebrate with cake and pony rides by hosting your party at our cafe or cabin aftewards.

NONDISCRIMINATION

  3. 3. The Forest Service shall furnish signs setting forth this policy of nondiscrimination. These signs shall be conspicuously displayed at the public entrance to the premises and at other exterior or interior locations, as directed by the Forest Service.

  4. 4. The Forest Service shall have the right to enforce the foregoing nondiscrimination provision by suit for specific performance or by any other available remedy under the laws of the United States or the State in which the violation occurs.
